Textback keeps your data on your device. There is no account and no sign-up. We do not run advertising, and we do not track or profile you.
Your message history, the people/relationships you save, your settings, and your subscription status are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. Deleting the app removes them.
By default, replies are generated on your device by a built-in engine — the text you paste is processed locally and is not sent anywhere.
If you choose to enable higher-quality AI replies by entering your own OpenAI API key in Settings, then — and only then — the specific message text you’re replying to (and a screenshot, if you pick one) is sent to OpenAI for the sole purpose of generating replies, under OpenAI’s privacy terms. We do not store that text or those images on any server of ours.
When you choose a screenshot, it is read only to extract the message you’re replying to. We never upload or store your screenshots.
Pro subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in your Google Play account.
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data.
